SUMMER 2025
TENTATIVE DATES
JULY 14-18, 2025 (Mon-Fri) or
JULY 21-25, 2025 (Mon-Fri)
FINAL DATES TBD
Join artist Sarah Griffin Thibodeaux and local guide Peak Ness and a small group of painters as we visit and paint the historic and breathtakingly beautiful area of Alsace, France.
In the mornings we gather for breakfast and then Peak takes us to her favorite vistas of the area and we paint.
Non painting traveling companions may use their time to tour the area while we paint.
At lunch Peak has found us the perfect spot to sit and eat and visit with each other after our painting session. And our gear will be safely packed so we can rest and visit.
Learn about the artists who worked here and the amazing architecture that is the heritage of this area.
Fun fact: the artist who created the Statue of Liberty is from Colmar.
In the evenings we take our meals together and recap our day's work painting.
This is a trip for painting artists! Grab your gear and we will share turps and get out there and paint!

A native of Los Angeles, Peak Ness grew up in Thailand and California. She loves music (ask her about her friendship with Mike Watt!), dark comedy, sport fighting, and she looks at the world through her lens as a photographer. She escorts tours in Alsace, France, where she is a boy mom of three.
Sarah Griffin Thibodeaux is a contemporary realist artist living in New Orleans. She studied at the New Orleans Academy of Art, the Art Students League, and Florence Academy of Art. She has taught portrait painting, still life painting, and plein air painting since 2009, both at the New Orleans Academy of Fine Arts, the Capital Hill Arts Workshop (in Washington, D.C.) and in her atelier, Studio Thibodeaux, where she offers digital classes, travel workshops, local workshops, and portrait commissions.
She loves to share the process of alla prima painting--the deliberate application of brush strokes to give the painting the feeling of life, of spontaneity, of the buzzing of life all around us. Sarah is looking forward to sharing this experience of painting with you.
